Lex XI won the Tom Barlow Cup by 26 runs
Division 3 Champions Caerhun came into the Tom Barlow Cup final against Lex XI looking for a League and Cup double while Lex aimed to bury the disappointment of losing the previous two finals. Opening batsman Jordan Kane was the mainstay of the Lex innings as he scored his first half-century of the season before retiring on 53. Steady bowling by Caerhun ensured that Kane lost a succession of partners cheaply, John Turnbull the pick of the bowlers taking 3 for 24. Paul Thornton's 31 made him only the second Lex batsman to reach double figures as they ended up on 125-7 from their 120 balls. Caerhun began their reply by losing a wicket in the second over as Joe Lloyd took 3 wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs. The batting went from bad to worse, only League Chairman Colin Proffitt's top-score of 28 runs made any real dent on the scorecard apart from an incredible 31 extras bowled by Lex! Paul Thornton cemented his Man of the Match performance by taking 3 Caerhun wickets for only 3 runs off 2 overs and holding on to 2 catches as Caerhun were all out for 99 runs. Lex were finally able to celebrate winning the Tom Barlow Cup for the first time since 1989 after two successive final defeats. Congratulations!
The Robertson Cup was won by Mochdre CC as they added it to their Division 2 title. No final match was played as opponents Llanrwst CC were unable to fulfil the fixture due to unfortunate circumstances. The League would like to send their condolences to Adrian and Nathan Jones on their sad family loss.
