Week 9: Monday June 29th - Wednesday July 1st 2009
Division 1
Mochdre CC managed to get 11 players for the first time in the league this year, they managed to win the toss for the first time this year and as the first ball was about to be bowled the heavens opened - game against league leaders Rydal Penrhos cancelled within 10 minutes due to the volume of water that had fallen. This result gave second placed Ysgol Pen Y Bryn a boost the night after they had beaten Rhos Fynach Taverners by 5 wickets at Bodlondeb. Rhos Fynach elected to bat first and lost opener Richard Weed run out during the first over. Graham Heath came in at 3 and was not out 36 as their innings closed on 107-8, PyB captain Darren Dentith leading the way claiming 4 wickets for 21 runs. Tight left arm bowling by Dave Owen (3-15) initially restricted PyB but runs from Andy Spillane (25), Rob Dixon (23) and Dave Atkinson (16not out) saw them home in the 13th over. Unfortunately for Mochdre CC their second match of the week was also washed out thanks to a torrential downpour, Mochdre and Llanrwst having to settle for a point each.
