Apologies: Elaine Catherall (Treasurer), Maggie Smith (Llanrwst CC), H. Roberts (Rydal Penrhos).

The Meeting was opened by the Chair, Alan Camsell, who welcomed everyone and commented that it was particularly good to see the return of Andrew Bohana to the meetings and his team, St. David’s College, to the League.

Minutes of Previous Meeting – were read and approved.  Proposed – Geoff Hawley, Seconded – Stuart Grant.

Matters Arising:

-      There was confirmation that Eddie Gorst (Gilbert Emery) had now been paid. The bill came to a total of £375 and although the League had offered an extra £50 by way of compensation for late payment etc., Eddie was not prepared to take the extra money. Good relations have resumed.

-         Andrew Bohana (St. David’s College) raised the issue of a problem with fixtures. His school finishes on 5th July & they have a match v Conwy Colts on 7th July. He requested a re-arrangement of this fixture.  The League agreed to the re-arrangement and Dafydd Williams (Conwy Colts) agreed to discuss a suitable alternative date.

-         St. David’s College will also have difficulty in fulfilling their fixture of the season on 30th April v Penrhyn Arms due to the school being in Rugby finals that day. Again Committee agreed that this could be rescheduled.

-         Due to St. David’s College closing on 5th July, Andrew Bohana stated that it was with regret that the team would have to pull out of the Tom Barlow Cup as they would be unable to fulfil their later fixtures (if they were to get through the earlier rounds). Their withdrawal was accepted by the Committee and this now gives a bye to Conwy Colts in the First Round.

Secretary’s Report – Darren Dentith handed out this seasons’ Fixture Booklets & requested everyone have a read through to check the details. He also requested that all teams take some result cards.

Darren confirmed that this season there will be 7 teams playing at Brackley Avenue and he suggested we consider purchasing a set of ‘league stumps’ for use by these teams. Alan Camsell asked if Rydal Penrhos were still charging teams £28 per match for hire of pitch etc and this was confirmed. Geoff Hawley suggested that this money should be enough for Rydal Penrhos to provide the stumps and this was generally agreed by those present. A discussion followed re: the key for access to the field.

Treasurer’s Report – Elaine Catherall had tendered her apologies for her absence but had provided Darren Dentith with details of finances. To date there had been no renewal yet for the insurance.  Confirmation that Gilbert Emery had been paid £375. There was a reminder for all Clubs to pay their subs and that if they are late with payment then they may incur a penalty of a raised subscription level.

Status Player – The definition of what constitutes a ‘status player’ was discussed and reiterated i.e. a Liverpool Competition or equivalent League player. It was confirmed that we do have a few ‘status players’ within our League. In Division 1 teams may play as many status players as they wish but in Divisions 2 & 3 this is limited to 3 players per team.

Any Other Business:

-      Lex XI advised that they will be playing all their matches ‘away’ this season but stated that they may occasionally get use of a pitch for their ‘home’ games however would liaise with opposing Club Secretaries to advise of venue.

-     Eddie Downes raised a point that there is no mention of the matches/attractions that are taking place at Conwy CC during this season

Meeting closed at 19.40

Date of Next Meeting – Friday 30th May ’08 @ CBCC @ 7.00p.m
