Minutes of Previous Meeting: The Minutes were read out and agreed. Proposed: Alan Camsell, Seconded: Clifton Robinson.
Matters Arising: None
Chairman’s Report: Colin commented on the good turn out of Club representatives and wished good luck to all teams taking part in this year’s matches. He congratulated Darren on the ever developing league website. Colin went on to welcome two new teams to the league – St. David’s College and Penrhyn Arms
Secretary’s Report: Darren reported that it had been a nightmare preparing this year’s fixture lists. He explained the difficulty encountered with the Police Team withdrawing from Division 2 and two new teams (Penrhyn Arms and St. David’s College) joining the league in Division 3, leading to an uneven number of teams in each league. This had been rectified by an e-mail from the Secretary to all Club Secretaries asking for their opinions on the best way forward. Majority agreement was that Caerhun should still be relegated to Division 3 and that Robertsons should be promoted to Division 2, as last year’s Division 3 runners-up. This now leaves the divisions as – Div 1 with 7 teams, Div 2 and 3 with 6 teams each
Treasurer’s Report: currently we have £290 in the account with the insurance payment of around £585 (last year's cost) looming. There was some discussion as to where the insurance reminder etc may have been sent as it has not gone to the Treasurer – contact to be made with Alan Lavery to see if it has been sent to him
Robertson Cup Draw:
Round 1 - Mochdre CC v Llandrillo College
Round 2 - Pen Y Bryn v Abergele CC
Bryn-Y-Neuadd v Mochdre Colts
Rhos Fynach v Llanrwst CC
Mochdre or Llandrillo Col v Llandudno CC
Tom Barlow Cup Draw:
Round 1 - Conwy Colts v Lex XI
Round 2 - Conwy Colts or Lex v Conwy Celts
Caerhun v Bodelwyddan Ty Fry
St. David’s v Rugby Club
Penrhyn Arms v Robertsons
John Hardman Sixes – to be held at Bodlondeb, Conwy on Sunday 1st July. Eddie suggested that we make the fixtures to the day of competition so that all teams would know and understand the format etc., with registration taking place prior to this at the Committee Meeting in May which would also include payment of the £10 entry fee. Everyone was in agreement that this seemed like a good idea
Any Other Business:
*There was a discussion regarding the Cup Finals being played at Mochdre. This has been agreed in principal but is not yet confirmed
*Mochdre advised that they would find it difficult this season to hire out their pitch due to the already high level of usage from their own Club teams
*Clifton Robinson queried being able to change 2 of their matches in June (to be played at another date in the same week). There was a general discussion around the circumstances in which teams might apply to change match dates i.e. pitch not available. The Rule surrounding this was reiterated
*The recent Umpiring event was praised by Martin Wright who had attended – he recommended it for others if the course was to be repeated
*There was a suggestion that the Glamorgan matches be included in the future fixture booklet which Darren will be producing for Club Secretaries
The Meeting closed at 7.45pm
Date of Next Meeting – FRIDAY 27TH APRIL 2007 @ 7.00PM at CBCC
